Geotechnical Testing and Inspection Services
Smith-Emery provides the entire region with geotechnical related field and laboratory testing and inspection services with the goal of ensuring all work being performed and all materials that are placed are in compliance with the project plans and specifications.  Smith-Emery offers the following geotechnical services:

• Field Testing – consist of visual and hands on inspection to ensure material or placement of material meets the quantitative and qualitative project requirements.  This includes the development of professional relationships between client and inspector.

• Physical Laboratory Testing - All laboratory testing is performed in-house by our certified laboratory personnel. Smith-Emery will also perform laboratory testing on-site in a mobile laboratory for immediate testing results.  This mobile laboratory will be equipped to perform a number of laboratory tests such as: M/D Curve, gradations, sand equivalents and check points on various soil samples.

• Geotechnical Investigations - When conducting investigations, all work is performed directly under the supervision of a Professional Civil Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer.  Smith-Emery performs field reconnaissance, surface and subsurface exploration to determine the characteristics and history of the project site.

• Geotechnical and Environmental Consulting - Phase I and II services and remediation consultation.
